Augment IDE Agents

Augment IDE Agents are AI pair programmers embedded in VS Code and JetBrains IDEs that use the proprietary Context Engine to reason across entire codebases before making changes. The agents analyze requests against the codebase, create actionable plans, implement changes across files, and run terminal commands — all with automatic checkpoints enabling rollback. A persistent Memories system learns coding styles and project conventions across sessions, with team members able to promote approved memories to workspace-wide rules. The agents support multi-model selection, multi-repository coordination, image understanding for screenshots and Figma mockups, and parallel tool execution.
