Claygent is Clay's core AI research agent that uses large language models to browse public websites, scrape unstructured data, and answer custom queries about target companies and people. It features a Builder interface for creating, testing, and versioning prompts without spending credits, plus Navigator — a browser-automation layer that can interact with web pages by clicking buttons, filling forms, and applying filters to retrieve structured data from gated or dynamic sources. Claygent also supports custom MCP server connections to first-party data sources like Salesforce, Gong transcripts, and Google Docs, enabling contextual research grounded in a team's own CRM and conversation data.
