Devin is a fully autonomous AI coding agent that operates within its own sandboxed development environment, complete with a shell, code editor, and browser. It can independently plan complex engineering tasks, write and execute code across multiple files, run tests, debug errors, and submit pull requests for human review. Devin automatically indexes connected repositories to build comprehensive wiki documentation with architecture diagrams. The system supports concurrent sessions, allowing engineering teams to run multiple Devin instances simultaneously on tasks such as vulnerability remediation, framework migrations, test generation, and data pipeline work. It exposes an API for programmatic integration into CI/CD pipelines.
