LiveKit Agents is an open-source framework that lets developers build programmable, multimodal AI agents that participate in real-time sessions as full audio/video participants. The framework supports VoicePipelineAgent for STT/LLM/TTS chaining and MultimodalAgent for direct audio-to-audio processing. It includes a custom transformer-based turn detection model, built-in agent server orchestration, load balancing, Kubernetes compatibility, multi-agent handoff, and native tool-calling support. Agents can process and produce output across voice, video, text, and data modalities, with over 200 model integrations.
